Read the Old Comic
The first version of TG started in 2003 and ended in 2011. Yikes, that’s been a while! You can still read that one if you don’t mind some dated references and mid-2000s edgelord humor.
Whether you’ve just stumbled upon the comic or you’ve been following along since way back in the day, it’s a fantastic time to be here. We’re starting some brand new stories from scratch, and you won’t need to have read any backstory to know what’s going on!

About the Author
Hi there! I’m Nick Wright. I’m a writer and artist (obviously), video maker, and Star Trek fan.
I did my first comics about our family cats when I was 8 years old. Sadly, I didn’t get back to comics again until my early 20s, when I based Treading Ground partly on elements from my own life. (Yes, I did spend nearly a decade working in supermarkets!)
In addition to comics, I’ve also worked on YouTube shows like That SciFi Guy, Trash Panda Vegan, and Nostalgia Critic. I’ve done improv comedy, I’ve made VR games, and I’ve even tried freestyle rap (I’m OK at it but I keep saying “out here” for some reason.)
I’ve appeared on podcasts like Earth Station Trek and Webcomic Alliance, and even hosted one called Trekking Through Trek (we’ll get back to trekking one day). I’ve been a guest, panelist and volunteer at fan conventions like Dragon Con, TimeGate, Con Nooga and Kami-Con.
I’ve also worked a day job as a software engineer because — let’s be real — none of that other stuff pays the bills.
I’d be set for life if I could learn to concentrate on one thing for more than ten minutes!
