Robber: PUT THE PHONE IN THE BAG AND NOBODY GETS HURT!

Rose (looking dejectedly away as she hands over her phone): OK, but it's not gonna be worth much.

Robber (staring down at Rose's phone with an incredulous expression): Damn, is this a Pixel 2?

[The Robber is going through his bag as Rose looks on wide-eyed.]
Robber: Hang on, I got an iPhone 13 in here. You need it more than me.

Now that's what I call class solidarity.

We're doing Extra Comics for the next few weeks! These are individual comics that don't fit into any particular storyline and may or not be canon.

The next big thing is right around the corner though - more on that very soon!

I want to sincerely thank the 43 readers who signed up in the first week for the TG Patreon!

I'm awestruck, thankful, and frankly relieved that this many people want to help support the comic. We've already passed some of the Fun Numbers (37 and 42) and our next stop is a very nice 69. Will we hit 420 Patrons? It's a pretty high goal, but I'm not just blowing smoke when I say I think we can reach it!

We're starting strong right out of the gate, so you don't want to miss out. TG Patrons last week received:

  • The first 4 pages of Treading Ground "Season 2", a sequel to the original TG webcomic that I began but never released

    iPhone 13 came out in 2021 so it makes sense how this is outside of space and time.
    Because the original Treading Ground was in 2003 and the current series I two years (I think) before that. People can use their flip phones for Halo CE release night.

      TG follows a Simpsons-esque floating timeline. It’s always set in [Current Year].

      When the original comic started in 2003 only around 24% of people had a mobile phone, and most of them were the bar-style Nokia type phones. By 2011 when it ended, smartphones were a thing, and Nate had one by the end. So in the maybe 1 year that progressed in-story, we saw this massive technological shift that took almost a decade in the real world.
