As I was drawing this, I kind of knew the random, spur-of-the-moment porn mag in this comic was going to get a much bigger reaction than the punchline. Jeph Jacques never said anything about it, but some of the QC forumites seemed to be shocked and offended on his behalf, and possibly left afflicted with Confused Boners.
Hannelore was an intentional choice because I knew how ironic it would be, but when I see her like this, looking back on this comic does kind of give me bad feelings in my heart. Luckily, she has a semi-canonical evil clone, so maybe I’m off the hook.

I read QC daily, not offended at all. I actually thought it was funny. I think Jeph mentions rule 34 on his comic a couple times, so don’t worry about it. I’m pretty sure theres worse out there.

I’m also a QC reader, and was curious to see if it was a coincidence with Hanners from QC. Got to your note and found out that wasn’t the case. I was not offended, I thought it was very funny. Jeph has played with Hanners and double entendre before. This was a little jump past that, but still very funny.
I thought I had spelled it pretty blatantly with the whole “Questionable Cunt/Tit” thing. :-)

Yeah, somehow I missed that too. While the “cunt/tit” didn’t click, I did see the “questionable” so I figured it was probably intentional, though (that and Hannelore isn’t exactly a common name). OTOH, if it was her psuedo-canonical clone, she’d almost definitely be in BDSM porn, not just looking semi-innocent with a dildo.

For those who do not know, Pornucopia is the title of an adult novel written by sci-fi / fantasy author Piers Anthony. I have only seen an except from it in a magazine, But that chapter was about a man with a prosthetic penis. This was close to 20 years ago, but at the time I was full of “Snap-on tools” jokes.
