  5. frank says:

Meh, looks …not as good as Treading Ground.

    • SnideWizard says:

Seriously? You’re making a negative judgement without seeing a single strip, or getting any substantive information about it other than a title image?

      • Dr. wonderful says:

        Gotta admit, he’s fast though.

Aya huh? I take it, this take place at least a year later.

        • Frank says:

Well everyone else says it looks incredible without seeing anything about it, and who the the fuck says my comment was negative.

          • Jakk says:

I do. Give the strip a chance. Meh is not a POSITIVE reaction no matter WHAT you may say. Looks….not as good as Trading Ground is also not a positive comment. You’re entitled to say it looks inferior and you do not like it, but have the guts to stand by what you say than start spouting off all defensively like you’re being picked on. Me? I’m hopeful and i like the art already.
You got three ways to respond: You can go ahead and start to flame me, which i will promptly ignore, you can try to respond in a positive and even debating manner but keep your cool and then start a meaningful dialogue, or you can just not respond at all.

Looks good. A college campus looks like a great place for a broader scope of comedy. Plenty of NSFW type scenarios in the future! Hoping for a Nate appearance or two as well!
    Bookmarked!

  7. noobchan says:

will rose be making a cameo ?

  8. Tim-bop says:

As long as we get a Purvous cameo I will be happy.

  9. Angel says:

is she aya? I love that girl

  10. Kutharos says:

I’m a bit late to say this but I am glad you finished off TG instead of making it a going on and on like long horror movie franchise. Second, can’t wait for this new ’spin off’ series.

  11. Jim says:

HUZZAH’s are in ORDER !!! – GREAT news Nick.

Will “like” in FB and be watching for it’s “pre-me”!

  12. Hogan says:

Oh, I will be following you over to Idle State allright! Treading Ground was a treat, I expect this to be the same :-)

  13. Passerby says:

    Cool.

  14. Brendan T says:

    Is that Aya?

    Aya’s getting a spinoff?

    FUCKYEAH!

  15. Wuzno says:

So your pulling a David Willis and putting your characters in another universe on a college campus. Sound plan.

    • No Name In Particular says:

No, if he was pulling a David Willis, he’d have already created a really good college strip, then turned it into something else, then, years later, created a new college “prequel” to the strips that followed, with all of the same characters…except that they were all drastically different in their characters and the way they related to each other.

Not to mention that the new strip would utterly suck.

  16. menotu says:

Nate, really enjoyed the work you did with Treading Ground so I’ll be more than happy to try out Idle States once you get underway.

  17. jm says:

Well, Nick – please let it be the first college comic worth reading. Or maybe it’s possible to make the college have a smaller role in the comic than that picture makes it seem.

  18. leudante says:

Is that a female version of nate??

  19. Cristaltiger says:

So those are aya, the gay guy who sleeped with douche mcdickhead(i dont know their names xD) and thats…the other girl from the supermarket?…i sooooooo wanna read this @-@…Nick you better keep with the great NSFW job! xD

  20. jm says:

Damnit, the temptation of making a connection between the gay(?) guy and his apple product is just too strong..

  21. dave says:

got to agree with jm keep the faith
